Oberalppass: The perfect autumn hiking tour near Andermatt

This hike glowed with autumn colors despite the lack of trees, which made this hike extra scenic and special. The views from this hike were unhindered by forests or scrubs yet the path around the mountain presents new, stunning views at every turn. I love this hike for fall because it is very exposed so the sun feels welcome on a cooler day while chilly breezes maintain the autumn feel.

Winter started surprisingly late the year that I did this hike, so I was actually able to do this hike on the last weekend of October; however, normally this hike would only be snow-free until the end of October.

The hike was not technically difficult, but there was a particularly rocky section at the beginning of the descent. This added a more hands on feel to the hike, but was very manageable and quite beautiful.
